Introductory speech of the conference: Sustainable and bioclimatic Architecture as a proposal to Climate Change and Environmental Pollution. Seminar and Workshop TAU on heritage preservation in the integrated north, metropolization and the environment.
Sustainable architecture is directly linked to the environment , climate , resources and culture. It is presented as a proposal to the imminent imprint left by man in his desire and need for expansion and development.
Pollution in all its aspects , as a result of this human process itself and unstoppable inertia is directly linked to our behavior , our life, our act ; the same that led us today to endless debate on our actions and our leading role in the contamination and possible changes in the global climate.
As an architect I find myself motivated to start questioning, investigations and actions on this worrying but exciting issue.
The actions to take , in my opinion should be made for the right reasons , specifics and sustainable in the long -term goals , not only technologically but also economically .
Solutions , must be able to be available while effective to all stakeholders according to their own reality.
The aim of the conference is sustainable architecture as such , but as I mentioned , it must be for the right reasons , making actions and assertive decisions without political pressures , always seeking appropriate solutions to each reality and ecosystem.
I Start this debate with this exhibition that is a collection of data on two important issues that can not be ignored before talking about sustainable , ecological or green architecture , which are : climate change and environmental pollution . These two great motivators , especially the first , is generating the biggest movement at governmental levels than any other . It has captured the full attention of institutions globally , to the point that were created panels , forums and treaties with fines binding economic , in a frenzied crusade to save the planet.
For these reasons my interest is born, in deepening somehow all aspects that can lead us to be protagonists as architects to be parts of this reality and that can be achieved through an objective understanding of these real and tangible phenomena.
